Bob Sullivan

Bob Sullivan is a senior writer for MSNBC.com's Technology section, specializing in computer crime, electronic financial fraud, privacy, and the Internet Underground.

His award-winning investigative reports have forced hundreds of companies to come clean about the theft of customer data by hackers, and he has regularly been the first to warn of potential identity theft. Sullivan was also the first to tell Americans that the FBI had developed a computer program, called Magic Lantern, designed to steal public encryption keys.

Sullivan's work has been read by millions on MSNBC.com, and has appeared in dozens of other worldwide publications, including The Wall Street Journal Online, a variety of Ziff-Davis publications, and translated for publication in Italy's La Republica.

Sullivan has also appeared on MSNBC TV, CNBC, "NBC Nightly News," "The Today Show," TechTV, and a variety of local NBC affiliates.
