Douglas B. Feaver

    Douglas B. Feaver is executive editor of washingtonpost.com and a vice president at Washingtonpost.Newsweek Interactive, The Washington Post Co.'s Internet publishing division. He is responsible for the online news mission of washingtonpost.com.

Feaver joined The Washington Post newspaper in 1969 as a copy editor, then served as an assistant city editor. In 1974, he began reporting on regional affairs and local and national transportation, with an emphasis on the construction of the Washington Metro system. In 1981, he joined the national staff and became national transportation reporter, specializing in aviation safety issues. He was named Virginia editor in 1986. Feaver became Metro editor in 1990 and business editor in 1993. He joined washingtonpost.com in October 1997 as liaison to The Washington Post newsroom. He became acting editor of washingtonpost.com in June 1998, editor in September 1998, and executive editor and vice president in March 2000.

Prior to joining The Post from the Norman (Okla.) Transcript, Feaver spent five years as an Army intelligence officer. He was stationed in West Berlin for three years.

Born in Sacramento, Calif., and raised in Norman, Okla., Feaver is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma.
