| Guy D'Andrea is senior vice president for URAC, a non-profit health accreditation program that is also known as the American Accreditation HealthCare Commission.
At URAC, D'Andrea oversees the standards development and government relations programs. Recent projects include the development and implementation of an accreditation program for health Web sites; refining URAC's scoring methodology; and updating URAC's standards for health plans and utilization management.
He is a frequent speaker on the topic of health care quality and oversight, and has authored numerous articles on accreditation issues. He is a member of the board of directors of the Internet Healthcare Coalition and the editorial board of the newsletter BNA's Health Plan and Provider Report. He has served as a member of two curriculum development panels of the Academy for Healthcare Management.
Prior to joining URAC, D'Andrea worked at the American Association of Health Plans as the director of AAHP's State Services Department, which was responsible for tracking and analyzing state policy developments affecting managed health plans. Before that, D'Andrea was the Director of State Health Policy for the American Managed Care and review Association.
D'Andrea has also worked at the Maryland Association of HMOs and the Johns Hopkins School of Hygiene and Public Health. He is a graduate of Cornell University. |
