  Steven Waldman is the editor-in-chief and co-founder of Beliefnet.com, a Web site dedicated to multi-faith religious matters.

Prior to launching Beliefnet.com in 1999, Waldman was the national editor of U.S. News & World Report and, before that, was a national correspondent for Newsweek. He earlier served as editor of The Washington Monthly, a political magazine.

Previously, Waldman was senior advisor to the CEO of the Corporation for National Service, the government agency that runs AmeriCorps and other volunteer programs. He is the author of The Bill (Viking, 1995), about the passage of the AmeriCorps law. It is now a textbook used in college courses taught across the United States.
